Prioritizing physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing for a fulfilling life

Health: Physical, Emotional, and Mental are important. What we eat, how we move, the quality of our sleep, what we feed our minds our capacity to manage our emotions determines our overall health.

When we are conscious, we can then be in touch with our bodies to identify when there is a change that needs attention.

Physical Health

Nutrition, exercise, sleep, and preventative care

Mental Health

Mindfulness, therapy, and mental stimulation

Emotional Health

Stress management and emotional awareness

Pain is not normal, never normalise it. This just tells you that your body needs you to pay attention, so don't ignore it. Being a medical practitioner, I have witnessed many times people show up at the doctors when cancer has spread significantly because they ignored a symptom.

Manage your stress, this will help you be more productive and live longer.

Whether this means 10 mins walk, 10 mins meditation, journaling, dancing, listening to music, 10 mins of doing nothing whatever it takes please pay attention.

Normalise seeing a therapist if that's what you need. Your mental health is super important. Don't wait till it's too late. We all have very toxic conversations in our head be aware recognise and deal with. Don't say you are fine when you just don't want to talk to someone. On the opposite, hug and smile at the ones you care for, laugh as much as you can it's a medicine to the soul.

Pay attention to how you breathe.

Take 5 mins each day to do some breathing exercise and become conscious this will help you get back to your natural equilibrium. Couple this with meditation and you are on to something amazing. Meditation is not thinking, it's being aware of your thoughts as an observer, not a participant.

Sleep, I need to work on this myself. But guess what, sleep is so important that the Guinness book of records won't allow people to compete for the record of who can go the longest without sleep. Lack of sleep alters your brain function, alertness and general well-being. If you are sleeping under 6hrs please create sleep hygiene and ensure you get quality sleep recommended 8hrs and more. You will save yourselves from Alzheimer's, cancer, weight gain and many more.

Most importantly create a healthy relationship with your doctor to go for checks preventative not reactive!

Commit yourself to be healthy and look after yourself.
