But what is gratitude?
Gratitude isn't simply a word; it's a feeling. It has to be a part of your inner personality. It's not always easy to be grateful when life happens, and it will continue to happen as long as we live. The difference is that when you see life as happening for you rather than to you, you may show gratitude.
But, exactly, what is gratitude?
Friendships and Seasons
I'm going through an unusual time in my life when things are changing and relationships are shifting, and I've had to sit and question God for putting me in circumstances where I've trusted, given my all, and then been betrayed or undervalued. Then it occurred to me that none of these friendships was made under duress. I consciously choose to be active on multiple levels.
All I had to do was learn to be grateful for having them in my life for that season, as well as for new individuals who were coming into my life.
But, exactly, what is gratitude?
Manifesting and Learning
I believe in manifesting, and I had financial plans, ambitions, and a promising future. But then life began to intervene. Many major changes occurred in my life, including failed business projects and investments.
I had a moment of dissatisfaction and doubt.
Then I had to remind myself that I was still the same person with amazing ideas and abilities and that those were simply things I needed to learn and grow from. I had to be grateful for the teachings and for the privileged position I now hold. Although I lost money, I did not lose myself or my abilities.
But, exactly, what is gratitude?
Family and Connection
I never expected that my independence and ease of travel would be restricted while living overseas away from my family and dealing with the pandemic. I haven't seen my loved ones in 5 years, especially my mother. I was pouting and unhappy at times, missing home and wishing for a snuggle from Mama Bear.
However, throughout the pandemic, I realised that we needed to converse more. We checked on each other, we appreciated each other even though there was no touch, as the truth of the limitlessness of time and life was a reality, which I am glad for.
